The beginning

Tira, growing bored with sitting in the castle, restlessly jumped from her seat on the throne.
"There's nothing to do here!" She exclaimed in a childlike voice. "We need a little...fun.
"My knights!" She commanded. 20 robed men and women revealed themselves from the shadows around the room. They all knelt with their fist to the ground.
"I want a little chaos." She walked along in front of them, her long claws brushing over each of their heads. "Take some of your weaker minions and infiltrate the camp. No bloodshed, but feel free to bring back a snack or two..." She smiled dreamily up at a gaping hole in the roof at the clouds above. "I want to hear screams..."
The group saluted Tira and faded once more.

Athen, playing along, exposed the wound and winced. "Where am I?" he asked, looking over the doctor. "A camp?" he assumed by her human smell.

"Yes, just outside the city," India replied. "I'm assuming you were careless while making your way here?"

"I was a bit careless. I haven't been well," Athen said, looking around the room. "

India smiled and patted the wound with gauze soaked in alcohol. "You look half dead," she commented. She took a needle and and stitched the wound carefully with plastic thread. "We don't have a lot of supplies since the camp north was attacked," she said quietly.

"Who attacked it?" Athen asked. "Don't worry too much about the wound. I have enough experience with treating stitches. I can take care of it."

"We're not sure. It was probably bandits." India covered the wound and began wrapping gauze around his torso. "They're still looking into it."

Athen pulled his shirt back down as she finished, admiring the gaping hole where the stab wound was. "Thank you, Doctor. I'm going to be leaving now."

"Leave? Shouldn't you rest?" India put her hands on her hips. "Don't push it."

Athen paid not attention to the doctor. "I'd like to be gone before the Ambassador returns." He stood and looked out the window. "I have a lot to do and he'll just hold me back."

"You can't just take off," India insisted. "We need you to fill out a chart and make sure you're not wanted or anything. If you're not hiding anything, that shouldn't be a problem." She stood in the doorway, her arms crossed.

Athen chuckled. "Thank you for your help, but I'm afraid I can't comply." He put his hand against the window and pressed against it, causing it to crack as if it were fragile tissue. "I'll repay the debt later."

India stepped out of the room. "What are you..." she gasped. "You're a Miser..."
She turned into the hall, running towards the office. "Damn it, Kallias!" She yelled down the hall. "You brought a Miser here!"

Athen frowned, but shattered the glass anyway. With little effort, he jumped out the window and landed in the street below. He looked around, seeing terrified, dirty faces. "What's happened here?" he asked a woman and child. "Why are you filthy and the buildings destroyed?"
The woman didn't answer. She continued to cower, holding her son. Athen looked up at the sky. It's clouded with dust. He scowled, bearing his teeth slightly. "What have you fools done?" he asked no one. "Why would you destroy your only home?"

India ran down the short flight of stairs. The room was only a few feet of the ground. She knew the man would be out in the city before she could make it.
She jumped over the small desk separating the lobby from the reception area. She slid between the broken doors and outside.
People were already running and yelling to each other. She looked where the people were looking. Athen was standing in the center of them, looking at the sky.
"Get to your homes!" she screamed, looking around. A stunned soldier was holding a wooden bat, staring at the Miser. She pulled it from his hands before he could protest and ran towards Athen, swinging.

Athen, what have you done? Kallias thought, anxiously, as he jumped to his feet and ran back into the room. Athen was gone, as was the glass from the window. Kallias looked out the window, finding Athen in the center of the street. He jumped the short distance, dropping to his knee behind Athen as India approached him.
"India!" Kallias yelled, stepping between her and Athen. "There are children watching!" He twisted the bat from her hand and tossed it through the window.

Athen stepped aside, watching Kallias disarm India. "Kallias, I demand an answer to what happened to the city," he commanded, disregarding India. "Why are there no decent buildings or homes?"

India tripped and fell to her knees. "You monsters started a war and had everything destroyed! We can barely find food or fresh water!"

Zander watched as a group of terrified refugees ran between buildings. Damnit, they're running from the hospital...
"You two! With me!" He said to two nearby soldiers, bolting forward through the surging crowd. The male and female soldiers followed closely behind Zander as they made their way to the hospital.
They found a group of frightened cowering women and children in one corner of the clearing, near a Miser Zander hadn't seen before. The two soldiers behind Zander dropped to one knee immediately and took aim with their rifles.
"Hold your fire," Zander told them over his soldier as he continued forward towards Kallias and India. "What the hell is going on here?" He demanded, pushing a stumbling child behind him.

"Kallias brought a Miser into the city and that monster busted out the window and ran away!" India stood and pointed at Athen. "Just leave!"

"Damnit..." Zander sighed and dropped his head. "Sir, I didn't want him seen...It's going to take forever to calm these people down..."

Soren breathed calmly as the sparks dissipated. He opened his eyes and stood up, leaving the room. He knocked softly on Cala's door.
"Cala? Is everything okay?" He asked quietly.

Ezekiel made it to his destination and approached a man, barely getting one word in before he was put to work. He grumbled a little, but once he started to fix up the wagons he didn't even remember. Ezekiel only stopped once to inspect a small cut on his arm, then proceeded to another wagon.

Walking slowly to the window, Cala watched Seth flee, looking at the boy with sudden curiosity. She leaned out the window, watching him disappear without anyone noticing. A small smile came to her lips. She was amused by their differences.
Then there was a knock on her door that brought her to the door. She opened it and looked at Sora, a bit of confusion on her face. "Yes, sir," she said, her voice small. "Why do you ask?"

Soren frowned as his headache threatened to rise. "I heard voices. I felt a presence as well."
